The Tech Mahindra Foundation was
launched to address the educational
needs of the underprivileged, especially
children, as well as espouse the
cause of women's empowerment in
education.
We believe that by
focusing on the education of the
underprivileged, we can develop
world-class human resources. Education
leads to empowerment and self-reliance.
Our firm belief in this spurs our
sponsorship of educational aids
and vocational training programs
for the underprivileged.
The Foundation aims
to realize its vision by creating
and supporting programs that will
bring about sustainable changes,
aimed at the economically less privileged
and socially disadvantaged.
The
Foundation was formally launched
in June 2007
as an expression
of understanding of these issues
of social concern.
The Foundation also
supports women empowerment programs
through vocational, technical and
professional education at all levels.
Our endeavor is to build active,
sustainable partnerships with individuals,
community at large, government and
other organizations committed to
the field of education and women
empowerment and to leverage their
efforts for optimum results.
Together with our
partners, Tech Mahindra Foundation
is spawning new ways to transform
society by supporting education
and women empowerment programs,
and bring its benefits to the displaced
and dispossessed. The Foundation
has tie-ups with non-governmental
organizations (NGOs, not-for-profit
ventures) based in Delhi-Noida,
Maharashtra and Karnataka. These
partnerships help promote programs
that enable the underprivileged
to become self-reliant and responsible
contributing citizens.

Shikshak Samman Awards 2009-10
Sponsored by
Tech Mahindra Foundation
The Tech Mahindra Foundation and in collaboration with the Municipal Corporation of Delhi, announce the SHIKSHAK SAMMAN AWARDS for 2009-10, to honor outstanding teachers working in Municipal schools. The scheme was launched in 2008 and aims to create public recognition of the contribution of these Teachers.
We believe that a well conceived and implemented program can set in motion a process of motivating a larger number of teachers to excel at their job. The scheme is so devised as to provide an avenue for further professional development of the committed teachers, encourage innovation and disseminate best practices.
Selected teachers will be recognized and awarded for meritorious service. The awards will be in the nature of scholarships, and other appropriate incentives for professional development. The selection will be made by an eminent jury of educationists according to criteria and process designed to ensure the fulfillment of the intent of the scheme.
The scheme will be coordinated by the Tech Mahindra Foundation.
For 2009-2010 the scheme will be open to teachers of all schools of the MCD.
Thirty awards are proposed to be given in 2009-2010. Each award will consist of a cash award, TLM kits and a residential training program.
