Tech Mahindra Wins "Smart Cities Award" under the "Best Smart City Initiative" category

Tech Mahindra won an award under “Best Smart City Initiative" category of "Smart Cities Summit & Awards" – 2016 held in Taj Lands End, Mumbai last night at glittering award ceremony.

The Smart Cities Awards aims to recognize pioneering projects designed to make cities more livable, sustainable and economically viable. Businesses, entrepreneurs, research hubs, non-governmental organizations and public or private consortiums have pitched their innovative smart city strategies and solutions to transform cities in the field of technology, energy, governance, sustainability and mobility.

The biennial award recognize industry partners who have played a pivotal role in developing projects which has helped cities to become technologically advanced in terms of environmental sustainable solutions with focus on sustainable way of living.

These awards recognizes best practices in corporate and social responsibility, some of the leading industry veterans formed a jury for the same. Some of the jury members are:

Tech Mahindra was recognized with the Winner of Golden Peacock HR Excellence Award – 2015 at a glittering award ceremony in Mumbai today.

The Golden Peacock HR Excellence Award, introduced in 2011 by the Institute of Directors, is a leading recognition framework to mark successes and accomplishments for the HR fraternity in India.

This award is  bestowed upon organizations that have achieved overall excellence in their HR and people management practices, thus contributing to the needs of business, the profession, employees, industry and the nation. The Award serves to confer distinct recognition on organizations and HR professionals as an employer and employee champion to bring out the best through sound and commendable HR and people management practices.

This win marks a hat trick of sorts for the Tech Mahindra HR team in 2015, having won the BW HR Excellence Awards and SHRM awards earlier in the year.

Tech Mahindra wins IT Excellence Award

Tech Mahindra won ‘National IT Excellence Award’ under IT Leadership Award (Internet) category on 20th Feb at Taj Lands End, Mumbai, hosted by Asian Confederation of businesses & Stars of the industry (Stars Group)

The National Awards in IT Excellence is a benchmark to recognize excellence throughout the IT industry. The Awards focuses on the contribution of Individuals, projects, Organizations and Technologies that have excelled in the use, development and deployment of IT and presents companies that have demonstrated leadership in using IT for Business Transformation, Optimizing costs, developing synergies across businesses.

STeP-IN is India’s first and most comprehensive forum exclusively focused on Software Testing. Over the years, STeP-IN has produced a dozen software testing conferences and 9 themed events across different locations in India. Recently at their 6th International Software testing conference at Hyderabad (HSTC) Tech Mahindra’s Performance Engineering team scored a hat trick as two of its papers (out of 100+ nominations) got selected as best publications

On 18th November at Dubai, Forbes Middle East hosted a very special night, celebrating the top management executives that are heading up regional offices in the Middle East for the world’s most powerful companies. Forbes Top 100 Middle East - Global Meets Local 2015 Award were presented at the ceremony.

Awards won in Q2FY16

Tech Mahindra Ltd has been selected as an index component of the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI). Tech Mahindra for the first time has made it to the Dow Jones Sustainability Index under both Emerging Markets and DJSI World category. We are one amongst the only 3 companies from India to make it to the DJSI World Index. Tech Mahindra is also one amongst 9 companies making it to the DJSI Emerging markets category.

S&P Dow Jones Indices, one of the world leading providers of financial market indices, and RobecoSAM, the investment specialist focused exclusively on Sustainability Investing, today announced the results of the annual Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (“DJSI”) review. The Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes (DJSI) launched in 1999, are a family of indexes evaluating the sustainability performance of the companies. Dow Jones assesses companies on both financial as well as non-financial parameters of the company. The indexes we are part of comprises of some of the elite companies of the world such as Volkswagen AG, Unilever NV, Abbott Laboratories, Telenet Group Holding NV, Telefonica, Goldman Sachs Group Inc. and many others.

The new DJSI index would be effective as of 21 September 2015.


The Forbes Leadership Awards, now in their fifth year, celebrate transformational leadership and corporate excellence and is Forbes India’s most prestigious event.

The profiles of these nominees are as diverse as the spectrum of entrepreneurship in India: There are chiefs of banks with billions of dollars in assets, there are heads of companies who have painstakingly created a valued brand and a sustainable business, there are founders of startups who have carved a niche for themselves in a short span of time, and there are social entrepreneurs who are employing their business acumen to improve the society we live in.

This year, the esteemed Jury was chaired by Harsh Mariwala, chairman, Marico Ltd and included Naina Lal Kidwai of HSBC India, Sanjay Nayar of KKR India, Noshir Kaka of McKinsey India, Akhil Gupta, former chairman of Blackstone India and Manish Sabharwal of TeamLease Services.

CP Gurnani was selected as the jury felt there could be no better recipient of this award than him, for the manner in which he has taken Tech Mahindra to the next level of growth and driven deep-rooted changes in the organisation.

Awards won in Q1FY16

The catalyst that Tech Mahindra was leading ‘Recover First, Resolve Next: Closed Loop Control for Managing Hybrid Networks’ won the ‘Best Adoption of Frameworx’ award and is one of the 4 awardees among the 19 catalyst demos presented at TMForum’s TMFLive, at Nice in June 2015.

The catalyst was sponsored by Orange, AT&T and KDDI R&D Labs. All the three operators are from different regions, clearly indicating that this catalyst was addressing a universal business challenge.

The objective was to demonstrate the move towards closed loop control of mobile hybrid networks (traditional and virtualized) – like automated fault recovery and Performance/SLA driven closed loop control to remediate Service Performance issues.

The other participants in the catalyst were IBM, HP, Nokia and Cisco. We divided ourselves into two tracks – Track 1 - TechM and IBM implemented Performance and SLA Use Case, Track 2 - HP, Nokia and Cisco teamed up to drive Fault Management Use Case.

Track 1 demonstrated how PM metrics can be managed from multiple sources and displayed on a single pane of glass with multi-dimensional SLA dashboards – with different views from a CSP and VNF Provider perspective. Track 2 demonstrated auto-healing triggered by OSS/NFVO and auto-healing triggered by VNFM to control fault recovery in a multi-vendor scenario.

A number of Frameworx assets like GB917, IG1120, TMF623 were used as guiding principles for this catalyst and we also contributed to a number of TMF Frameworx assets that were already released in Fx15 or in near future – IG1127, TR245, TR229 etc. We will continue to contribute and help evolve Frameworx in the Operate Theme NFV community, which will benefit the entire community and serve as a reference guide for digital service providers & technology vendors. This award recognizes Tech Mahindra’s deep domain expertise, solution portfolio diversity, extensive experience and value proposition in the Transportation sector.

Frost & Sullivan India ICT awards acknowledge exemplary companies and individuals who have pushed the boundaries of excellence – risen above competition and demonstrated outstanding performance in the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) sector in India.

Tech Mahindra and GSK have been awarded the 2015 ISG UK & Ireland Paragon Awards for Collaboration at a stunning awards dinner at the world famous Tower of London on Wednesday 1st July. The winner of each category was presented with a special Paragon trophy in recognition of their achievement.
