Customer Portal for Tracking Orders and Marine Products for European Ships Services Organization

Problem Overview

The client is a maritime industry group leader delivering products and services globally. It wanted to develop a customer portal for tracking customer quotes and orders and marine products on vessels. This would provide the ability to view current quotes and orders, historical orders, invoices and cylinder rentals. The client was also looking to lay the foundation for building an e-commerce portal to extend services from current B2B portals to self-care web and mobile apps.

Solution

Tech Mahindra started with the As-Is EA Blueprinting to understand the current application environment. It developed the customer portal using AngularJS, HTML5 and deployed on Azure, and integrated it with on-premise systems for real-time and batch updates. The events sent from on-premise ERP to Cloud Event Data Store using Azure Service Bus.

Tech Mahindra designed a centralized pub-sub model using Azure Topics. It used Azure Blob for event data store and SQL Azure for persistent data and implemented DevOps using VSTS.
