The client is a leading healthcare provider based in the United States.

Problem Overview

The client was struggling with improper configuration of components which posed risks to patient safety and resulted in unexpected downtimes. The company was dependent on manual sopervision og configuration which augmented the cost of operations. Besides, the approach was prone to errors and delayed the turnaround time.

The existing system was less user friendly and failed to show differentiation in the product line. The client engaged Tech Mahindra to address the problem using cognitive services.

Solution

Tech Mahindra assessed the scenario and designed various computer vision models to detect both proper and improper configurations. A compute unit, attached with six cameras, was deployed to take input video feed.

Computer vision models processed every video feed to analyze whether the component configuration was in place. In case of improper configuration, the system triggered an alarm. The system also showed the type of configuration error and drew a bounding box around it. The team could see these findings on a display monitor in real-time and fix the issue immediately.

Value Delivered

The use of computer vision models enabled the system to show accurate differentiation in the product line. The improved configuration reduced the wastage of blood and components. Since the process became automated, it eliminated the scope of human-errors and enhanced safety for patients. Reduced manual supervision also lowered operational costs and ensured a faster turnaround time. The system offered better usability, resulting in greater operator satisfaction.
