Strategy and Insight

  • The refining business of the customer was looking to improve mechanical reliability, process optimization, and reliability and predictability of plant operations by improving the efficiency and performance of their operations workforce.
  • Tech Mahindra performed a needs assessment program to identify role versus skill versus development needs and developed a unique and differentiated end-to-end learning solution by standardizing the operator competencies and building a robust curriculum that could be delivered consistently across all refineries.

Strategy and Implementation

  • The solution comprised of providing standardized, end-to-end learning solution that included needs assessment, curriculum design, courseware development and competency assessment across seven refineries (Americas and Africa) to 2000 plus field operators.
  • A 3-year competency-based curriculum that can train anyone with a high-school diploma
  • Training program comprised of 95 courses of 200+ hours of training. The curriculum consisted of different delivery modes such as classroom training, e-learning, field training and competency-based assessment.
  • Clearly defined measurement metrics for end of training evaluation

  • 700 trainees attended during the first year of rollout.
  • Improved proficiency level from awareness to application in less than a year
