TechM to get IT right for better profit margins

India’s fifth largest information technology services and solutions firm Tech Mahindra has stated the focus of the firm will be on improving profitability, even at the cost of growth. “It is not fair for the company to have margins in the 12-15 per cent range when my competitors are reporting margins in the range of 20 per cent and above. Tech Mahindra defies IT gloom in Q3

Tech Mahindra Ltd reported strong revenue growth for the second consecutive quarter. Revenue in US dollar terms increased 4.1% in the December quarter (Q3). In constant currency terms, it is up 5.4% from the September quarter (Q2). In comparison, HCL Technologies Ltd, which reported a strong performance, has seen its constant currency revenue rise 3% on a sequential basis.

Tech Mahindra latest to open inhouse lab for staff

Tech Mahindra unveiled the Makers Lab last month — an in-house laboratory for employees to experiment and work on new technology. Chief technology officer Atul Kunwar said it is a step towards the consumer. “A lot of ideas are developed or built in conjunction with customers or partners at Makers Lab. We are taking this global and over time would want to see it become more cloud-oriented,” Kunwar told ET.
