Dow Jones Indices

India – September 13, 2017 – S&P Dow Jones Indices (S&P DJI), one of the world’s leading index providers, and RobecoSAM, an investment specialist focused exclusively on Sustainability Investing (SI), have announced that Tech Mahindra Ltd. has been included in the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI) for the third year in a row. Tech Mahindra, one amongst the only four Indian companies to make it to the DJSI World Index and one of the eleven Indian companies in the DJSI Emerging Markets category, retained its position in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index under both the categories.

Sandeep Chandna, Chief Sustainability Officer, Tech Mahindra Ltd. said, “Tech Mahindra is proud to be included in the DJSI 2017 rankings, for the third time around. We have been consciously implementing sustainable solutions in all aspects of our organization’s work through innovation, pro-active employee policies and minimizing negative climate impacts. This inclusion in one of the biggest sustainability review platforms encourages us to be even more committed to the cause of a sustainable future.”

The DJSI ranking is a validation of Tech Mahindra’s focus towards driving its sustainability agenda where the company has taken specific measures such as investments in renewable energy and water reusability projects, focused investments in innovative sustainability solutions such as SMART-Cities, Micro-Grid which helps villages, towns and cities achieve their sustainability goals; investments in associate engagement which have helped towards associate well-being and creating a better talent pool. Tech Mahindra Foundation has carried out social initiatives reaching over a 400,000 direct and indirect beneficiaries in space of education and employability.

Launched in 1999, the DJSI World represents the Gold Standard for Corporate Sustainability and is the first global index to track the leading sustainability-driven companies based on RobecoSAM’s analysis of financially material Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) factors and S&P DJI’s robust index methodology. Every year, RobecoSAM assesses the world’s largest companies via its Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA), which uses a consistent, rules-based methodology to convert an average of 600 data points per company into one overall score. This score determines inclusion in the DJSI
