Willful disruption is the method that businesses use to deliberately create challenges for their rivals or to create new headway in a market. Organizations and specific efforts often exhibit characteristics of multiple types of disruption that create powerful sources of differentiation for a business.

CIOs who are building or expanding a digital business are confronted with a pace of innovation that is very disruptive to their ability to scale or thrive. Inability to cope with that pace can see business models and technology initiatives rapidly bypassed. It can be the difference between thriving and sliding. The idea of willful disruption shows how organizations use one or more of five intentional disruption styles to disrupt others or to respond to digital disruption emerging around them. In this way, growth and stability are in the control of those with willful intent to lead.

We identify five types of intent — offensive, defensive, serendipitous, destructive and self-disruptive. These styles embody the lessons learned from the greatest disruptors. But further, they can be used as a practical way that any organization can create an evolving plan to live in a world where disruption is the norm.

Connecting beyond board-rooms #WellnessFirst


In June, Tech Mahindra launched an initiative to change how the world lives: Wellness Before Business. The message was simple – It’s time to put your #WellnessFirst

While the message resonated with thousands of people from Tech Mahindra and beyond, the resulting online buzz added 4000 new followers on social media and generated over 400,000 impressions on Twitter in just 10 days of launch!

And it all started with Yoga..

Wellness Before Business launched as an initiative to promote the International Day of Yoga. Keeping in line with this objective, we conducted yoga sessions across all Tech Mahindra campuses, which witnessed massive turnouts, and were the tech partners at the Canada Yoga Day and Singapore Yoga Week, which saw tens of thousands of people practicing yoga together to put their wellness first.

In its second month, Wellness Before Business is pedalling the #WellnessFirst philosophy forward, through messaging centred around one of the world’s most loved and engaging activities – cycling.

Powering the promise of safety to 220 million citizens with #UP100


Tech Mahindra as consortium partner along Mahindra Defense delivering the promise of safety and security 24X7 to the MOST populated state of India – Uttar Pradesh. Powered by an all-women team. Living the philosophy of #Rise for a #SafeUP #SaferIndia

UP Dial 100 is the largest integrated emergency response system for public safety and security to all personals in the world which caters to approximately 220 million people of Uttar Pradesh. It covers an enormous area of 2,40,948 Sqm which covers 689 town and cities and 1,07,452 villages with 1,542 police stations covering the entire region. The emergency response system is 24/7 centralised system which helps in communication between the call centre and the closest police from the incident site to ensure the fastest response. Focusing on women empowerment the call centre has more than 400 women working who are part of Tech Mahindra’s response centre. Since the implementation of this program from 19th Nov 2106, 17,25,165 instances where police help has been facilitated.
