Dear Leader,

We welcome you to join us on the journey to #FUTURise.

"FUTURise is simply envisioning and creating the future and enabling people to Rise," as rightly articulated by our Chairman Mr. Anand Mahindra.

During the course of the last quarter, we celebrated the ‘Power of AI and Might of Convergence’ at our Annual Innovation Forum, also known as Mission Innovation 2018. Here, we got together with Industry Leaders, Innovators, Thinkers, Policy Makers & Analyst and shared our perspectives & solutions on AI driven by convergence of technologies like IoT, 5G as well as Digital.

Our efforts have paved the way for the first of its kind - Open Source Powered AI Platform, ACUMOS, and it is receiving great reception at forums like the Annual AT&T Summit.

In this age of disruption, innovation cannot happen in seclusion, and we need an ecosystem that supports collaboration in the real sense. As a step in this direction, we partnered with University of Berkeley’s Open Innovation Forum at University of California Berkeley. This partnership will go a long way to boost collaborative innovation.

Interestingly, at the 10th chapter of the Annual Wall Street Journal CEO Council, similar sentiments were echoed by some of the most powerful CEOs, Futurists and Global Leaders. They expressed the need for greater collaboration to unleash the potential of Disruption by Design.

We are very keen to have you onboard in this journey to create a connected future together.

Tech Trend: Willful Disruption

Self-disruption is also one of five models referred to as "willful disruption" — how businesses deliberately create challenges for their rivals and in the process, create new opportunities in the market. The key implication of self-disruption is that there is no fear of cannibalizing existing revenue bases.

While this may open the door for competitors to make up ground in an area where your company already dominates, in the end, those doors will close as new capabilities push the old ones out of favor.

In a self-disrupting strategy, the intent is to get there first — even if it is necessary to cannibalize your own previous success with a new product or service. This can be risky in many ways, including its execution. However, risk of inaction can be even higher.

  • Self-disruption will involve seeing the possibility of a significant disruption and being proactive to embrace the disruption before someone else does, even if it cannibalizes some existing advantage.
  • Innovation and self-disruption will drive much of the disruptive efforts of the digital giants.
  • Disruptive strategies do not need to be purely based on innovation. Self-disrupting approaches are successful as well.

Tech Mahindra @The Wall Street Journal CEO Council

Tech Mahindra was proud to co-sponsor the tenth annual meeting of The Wall Street Journal CEO Council.

WSJ Custom Studios in collaboration with Tech Mahindra got into a conversation with leading futurist and economic trends expert Eric Garland, asking him about disruptions reshaping the global economy and changes that businesses need to undergo to succeed in the future.

“There are industries where AI will enhance jobs, and we’re already seeing that with physicians: having a sophisticated computer that can help run diagnostics and recall potential diagnoses that you may have forgotten from med school, or reminders about drug interactions that will prove to be invaluable to the human physician.”

“Similarly, there are a multitude of activities in society where we will get to see emergence of new applications out of AI. It will not only run chatbots for healthcare or shopping but will prove to be very useful in many other industries as well.”

In collaboration with Eric we created this BE PREPARED DOCKET for the global CEOs at WSJ CEO COUNCIL, hope you find it relevant too. Read More

Building Relevance With AI: Here are views and perceptions on ‘Disruption by Design’

Sharing their views on – How We Can Dare to Disrupt by Design – DOW Jones CEO William Lewis, Futurist Eric Garland and Tech Mahindra CEO CP Gurnani, along with industry leaders Patrick Bass, CEO of Thyssenkurpp and Martin Lippert, CEO of Broadnet speak about how we can Humanize Technology in ways that unlock new experiences for consumers.

The 10th WSJ CEO Council started with industry eye-openers at the breakfast session hosted by Tech Mahindra CEO CP Gurnani and moderated by Dow Jones Chief Executive Officer, William Lewis. Here are some key takeaways from the session.

  • With AI, liberal trade policies that have led to so much success globally are now entering a new phase of integration in business collaborations, job roles and business functions.
  • Every industry today needs to re-imagine digital disruption through design. That’s how we will unlock new opportunities from future technologies like AI and Robotic Automation.
  • Embracing digital is no longer a boardroom discussion restricted to just the CEO or the CIO. It has become all pervasive and today requires engagement throughout the organization.
  • Even as conversations around AI, Blockchain, Quant Computing and AR & VR are getting more industry-specific, the time has come for transforming our intent into action.
