Sumit Kumar Popli

Sumit Kumar Popli is President – Technology, Media and Entertainment (TME) business at Tech Mahindra. In this role, he is responsible for driving strategic growth, overseeing technological innovation, and expanding business operations within the TME sectors. His charter includes fostering partnerships and leveraging our service offerings to deliver cutting-edge solutions that address the evolving needs of clients in the TME business. 

He is a seasoned technology leader with more than 25 years of international experience in driving entrepreneurial success and transforming large businesses across various industries, including Technology, Media & Telecom (TMT), Retail & CPG, Life Sciences & Healthcare, Travel & Transportation, and Manufacturing. 

Sumit has built an impressive portfolio of experiences, starting with over 22 years at Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) as Vice President and Global Head of the Hardware & Consumer Technology Industry, where he played a key role in the business unit’s rapid growth. Later, he joined Deloitte as Managing Director in the TMT Industry, focusing on expanding their Operate and Technology Services for more than two years.

With a proven track record in P&L management, strategy development and execution, and developing strategic partnerships & alliances, Sumit brings a wealth of expertise and experience to his role at Tech Mahindra. He has a reputation for cultivating and expanding valuable business relationships while consistently achieving outstanding results for both external and internal stakeholders.

Sumit earned his bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the National Institute of Technology in Kurukshetra, India, in 1999. Additionally, he has participated in management development programs at the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan, Arizona State University, and Imperial College London.
