Abstract
Modern telecom networks face growing complexity and demand, requiring a transition from manual to AI-driven network operations. In this whitepaper, we explore how AI and generative GenAI can enable autonomous network operations for various use cases, improving service quality and efficiency. We also discuss the implementation challenges. The Ai4AO platform from Tech Mahindra and Google Cloud is presented as a solution that helps communication service providers (CSPs) shift toward fully autonomous network operations.
Key Takeaways
For CSPs, the path to autonomous operations starts by targeting high-impact use cases. Focusing on one or two allows NOC teams to address AI implementation challenges and quickly demonstrate value through automation.
AI-based automation can deliver a wide array of benefits to CSPs, depending on the use case. In addition, AI and GenAI allow CSPs to deliver better experiences to their customers.
There’s no doubt that AI and GenAI can transform network operations. But CSPs face some notable challenges when implementing autonomous network operations.
- Data is scattered and hard to integrate for full network insights.
- AI tools are often isolated; autonomy needs system-wide integration.
- Legacy tech complicates new AI adoption.
- AI automation must perform well as traffic increases.
- Teams need new skills and change management to adapt to AI-driven operations.
Tech Mahindra and Google Cloud’s Ai4AO platform helps CSPs achieve autonomous network operations by integrating AI and GenAI for KPI prediction, anomaly detection, and automated resolutions. With a unified interface and real-time data analysis, Ai4AO streamlines system management and boosts network efficiency.
CSPs must deliver reliable, high-performance services while managing complexity and costs. AI and GenAI drive autonomous network operations by automating key tasks and improving efficiency. Tech Mahindra and Google Cloud’s Ai4AO platform offers predictive maintenance, self-healing, and zero-touch operations to simplify and accelerate network management.
