Reboot Manufacturing around COVID-19 with Industrial Cyber Security Assessment and Preventive Measures

While the whole world is grappling with COVID-19 , an unknown remote access Trojan called ‘PoetRAT’ attacked the Azerbaijan’s wind turbines. The Malware was distributed using URLs mimicking Azerbaijan’s Govt. domain and compromised their SCADA systems. The “Remote Access Trojan” could take control of the compromised system, transfer large files, install key loggers, steal browser-focused password, control camera applications, and other generic passwords. The potential costs and follow-on effects from a cyber-intrusion are enormous, from regulatory sanction to securities or other litigation. This could happen to any other manufacturing, oil and gas, energy and utility companies as well.
